A long time avocation for two generations of male Ryans is to do public address work, primarily in the sporting world. Ed Ryan, Jay’s father, was the voice of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL for football, basketball and other sports, for 38 years. Jay assisted his dad for a number of years while in high school and college.
As a team they did the Public Address (PA) work in Chicago’s Soldier Field for the inaugural World Football League, Chicago Fire. Jay’s love for PA continued with Texas Christian University, University of Texas-Arlington, and the Arlington Independent School District (AISD) – Lamar High School.

Jay loves what he does, noting that “we have almost as much fun when the microphone is off as we do when it is on.” Other work as a professional in Internet-related companies and applications caused him to realize the solution that streaming audio and video might create for Lamar football games.
A fellow Lamar High School dad was the co-founder of Home Sports Entertainment, working in conjunction with the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros.
As they say, the rest is history!
