Two rural affiliates of Habitat for Humanity, located in the mountains of Northern Appalachia, needed better visibility, better understanding of their mission in the community, and – most importantly – more funding. A video was produced for each one – one in Watauga County and the other in Alexander County, North Carolina – to help put more of a human “face” and “feel” to the wonderful ministry and impact that is at the heart of Habitat for Humanity. Both videos have now helped raised funding in the tens of thousands of dollars. And both have recruited upwards of one hundred new volunteers. Each affiliate has gone from building less than one home per year to building three or more in each county within the past two years. And many families who truly deserve the chance to be homeowners in the truest sense have realized their lifelong dreams!
